SENIOR LEAGUE (COLT DIVISION) SUPPLEMENTAL
PLAYING RULES
1)
Playing rules will be as the National
League Major League, i.e. The pitcher will bat,
metal spikes are permitted and head first
sliding is permitted into and back to any base.
However the game duration is seven innings the
Pete Rose Rule is in effect, and no jewelry of
and kind may be worn.
2)
Only team players, the Manager and two
coaches are permitted in the dugout area
3)
Rain outs will be called by the player
agent or his officially designated
representative up until game time, and by the
empire once the game begins. Games will only be
rescheduled with consent of the player agent.
4)
Starting time for weekday evening games
is 5:30 PM unless otherwise specified. Weekend
games start as shown on schedule. Forfeit time
is 20 minutes after the scheduled starting time.
5)
Less than eight players constitute a
forfeit. Teams may play with eight players
adding players to the bottom of the lineup if
players arrive late. Teams will take an
automatic out for the ninth player slot if no
player has arrived.
6)
One extra player (EP) MAY BE USED. The
person designated EP who is not a defensive
player at the start of the game may at any time
substitute in the field for another player.
EP’s maintain their slot in the batting order.
Teams that elect to use an EP must finish the
game with 10 players... Absence of a 10th
player in the line-up we treated as an automatic
out.
7)
Starting players may re-enter(i.e.
Starters removed from the game may re-enter the
game once returning to their place in the
batting order)
8)
Team may use consecutive batting order if
both managers agree-which would void 7 & 8.
9)
All uniform shirts must be tucked in and
the team cap must be worn.
10)
Helmets (90mph) must be worn by batter,
base runners and player coaches.
11)
There shall be a ten run rule. In that
the game will be terminated immediately in favor
of any team that leads by 10 runs, so long as
the trailing team has batted 5 full at bats.
12)
With two outs and the catcher on base,
the catcher may be replaced by the last batted
out to expedite transition. This action is at
the option of the Manager.
13)
For week-end games, no inning may start
after two hours and fifteen minutes from the
games start time.
14)
The bat may not be more than 34” in
length, nor more than 2 ¾ in diameter. The
difference between the length of the bat in
inches, and the weight of the bat in ounces must
be equal to or less than three.
15)
Each player must play a minimum of two
innings and have one chance at bat. This must
be completed by the fifth inning.
16)
Score of game must be reported by both
the winning and losing team.
